About Our School
C. C. Pinckney Elementary School is one of two elementary schools located on Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. Our school provides educational services to approximately 200 children in third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades who live here on post in permanent quarters. We are a school within the Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS). DDESS is a division of the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) which serves dependents of our military men and women. We are very proud of our school and the many wonderful learning opportunitites and programs available for our entire learning community. If you would like to learn more about C. C. Our school is named after Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, who was an attorney and politician who served as an officer in the First South Carolina Regiment in defense of Charleston, S. C., the battle of Brandywine, the battle of Germantown and campaigns in the Floridas and Savannah in the American Revolution. He was a leader at the Constitutional Convention and a signer of the US Constitution.
