Kendall Recreation Area has seventy-seven (77) campsites in the main campground and thrity-eight (38) campsites in the Kendall Forest campground. Both have water and electric hookups. The campground is mostly wooded with nice shaded campsites available for your camping enjoyment. There are two boat-launching ramps nearby, one below the Dam with access to the Cumberland River and the other above the Dam with access to the main lake. This location has an excellent trout fishery both in the stream below the U.S. National Fish Hatchery and in the Cumberland River. The state record Rainbow Trout was caught in the river below the dam and numerous large stripped bass have been caught above the Dam in the main lake.
Kendall Recreation Area also has two large playgrounds, a picnic shelter, several picnic sites overlooking the Cumberland River, and a Snack Shack. Kendall is our largest and most popular camping area so please make advanced reservations. This recreation area is located approximately ten (10) miles west of Jamestown, KY on Highway 127 below Wolf Creek Dam.
