272nd Engineering Installation Squadron

The mission of the 272nd Engineering Installation Squadron is to provide for the engineering and installation of ground communication-electronics systems. This includes removal and relocation of old or outdated ground communication-electronics systems, and to provide for emergency and programmed, mobile, on-site, maintenance and modification of these systems.

<p>In order to accomplish your mission, you must have a blueprint for success. And that's exactly what you'll be creating as an Air National Guard Engineering Specialist. You'll be directing and performing civil engineering design, drafting, surveying, and contract surveillance to support Air Guard facility construction and maintenance programs. You'll help plan, manage and reward construction jobs for a large variety of projects, and create blueprints and plans for building designs. The skills you'll learn as an Engineering Specialist are directly transferable into a civilian engineering or architectural career. You'll become an expert at project mapping operations, construction support surveys, road operations, road construction, and building and utilities layout surveys, along with conventional and computer aided drafting (CAD).</p><p>Engineers are specially trained in:</p><ul><li>Computer operations</li><li>Software applications</li><li>Mathematics, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry</li><li>CAD, GIS, surveying, materials testing, drafting, and contract management</li><li>Must have normal color vision</li></ul> Engineering

<p>If you think you like tinkering around in the car shop, imagine how much you'll love working on the multi-million dollar vehicles the Air National Guard maintains and operates. As a Vehicle and Vehicular Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you'll inspect, troubleshoot and repair vehicles such as dump trucks, bucket loaders, crawler and wheeled tractors, cranes, motor graders, snow removal equipment, sweepers, aircraft cargo loading vehicles, forklifts, aircraft towing vehicles and aircraft servicing vehicles. When a natural disaster strikes or an enemy attacks, the Air Guard needs vehicles that are ready to go.
