About Us

The DOI Office of Indian Energy and Economic Development is maintaining the Tribal Energy and Environmental Information Clearinghouse (TEEIC).

The U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of Indian Energy and Economic Development (IEED) is maintaining the Tribal Energy and Environmental Information Clearinghouse (TEEIC) with assistance from Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne).

About the Office of Indian Energy and Economic Development (IEED)

The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) Office of Indian Energy and Economic Development (IEED) addresses the overarching issue of economic development in Indian Country so that tribes will have a solid economic foundation to achieve self-governance. IEED assists tribes with developing economic infrastructure, increasing business knowledge, increasing jobs and businesses, increasing capital investment, and developing energy and mineral resources. The Office supports tribal development of energy and mineral resources on trust lands and management of special economic programs, grants, projects, and initiatives to advance reservation economies.

IEED has prepared a brochure providing an overview of its programs.

About Argonne

Argonne National Laboratory is one of the U.S. Department of Energy's largest research centers. The Environmental Science Division of Argonne National Laboratory conducts applied research, assessment, and technology development in such areas as risk and waste management, natural resources, integrated assessments, restoration, pollution prevention, environmental policy analysis and planning, and environmental management.
