Safe Communities

The Safe Communities Workshop promotes the development of teams


representing various fields: traffic safety, public health,


medical, civic organizations, industry, fire, Emergency Medical


Services (EMS), law enforcement, traffic engineering, local and


state government, judiciary, education, faith community, and


concerned citizens who want to prevent injuries, save lives,


and reduce trauma care costs where they live and work by


forming partnerships, pinpointing injury problems through use


of a community assessment model, developing a plan of action


for implementing realistic safe community programs.


      Who Should Attend


        a This workshop is for community teams, not for individual participants. The typical workshop serves 4-6 communities, each of which is represented by a 5-8 member team. 


              Although community team members will have varied


              backgrounds and experience, they should share a


              common desire to make their community a safer place


              to drive, work, play, and live
