Fugitive Task Force Operation Nets 66 Arrests

Maui, HI – U.S. Marshals Hawaii Fugitive Task Force Officers, Hawaii State Sheriffs, Maui Police Officers, Hawaii County Police Officers, and Kauai County Police Officers conducted a joint fugitive warrant sweep on the island of Maui. During the 3-day mission, sixty-six wanted fugitives were arrested clearing a hundred-four outstanding warrants. Those who were apprehended were wanted for various violent crimes which include drug offenses, sex offenses, robbery, and probation violation.

During the course of the mission, the following fugitives were apprehended, most notably 49 year-old Alan M. Santos. On September 5, Santos was arrested in Kahului on a $250,000 felony warrant for one count of sexual assault in the first degree and two counts of sexual assault in the third degree. The alleged victim in this case is under the age of 14. Santos is currently being held at Maui Community Correctional Center (MCCC) pending further court proceedings.

On September 4, Bill Warner Manuel, Jr. from Wailuku was arrested without incident at Waiale Road in Wailuku for ten outstanding bench warrants. The warrants were for probation violation, criminal contempt of court and failure to appear. Bail for all warrants netted $59,800. Manuel is being held at MCCC.

The U.S. Marshals Hawaii Task Force officers who participated in the collaborative mission consist of law enforcement officers from Maui County Police Department, Kauai County Police Department, Hawaii County Police Department and Hawaii State Sheriffs.
