Fishermen's Fall Festival

The annual Fishermen's Fall Festival in Seattle, Washington takes place each September. The festival, which celebrates the return of local fishing fleets and is a fundraising event for the Fishermen's Memorial Fund, is a full day of free outdoor events on the boardwalk at Fishermen's Terminal. The event also serves as a fundraiser for the Seattle Fishermen's Memorial.

AFSC staff bring information about NOAA's mission to the local fishing community and interested members of the public. Throughout their summer cruises, AFSC scientists collect an assortment of commercially important and other interesting fish and preserve them on ice for displays at the festival. AFSC scientists are on hand throughout the day to answer questions about their work and provide fun facts about the fish.
