HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Since a line of severe storms and tornadoes swept through parts of Alabama in late April, officials from the Alabama Emergency Management Agency (AEMA), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) have worked to assist victims of DeKalb, Marshall and Walker counties – all designated federal disaster areas. As of June 15, that effort has resulted in more than $4 million in approved federal funding to help individuals, families and businesses repair and restore their lives and property.
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Friday, July 2, is the deadline for people in DeKalb, Marshall and Walker counties who sustained damage from the late April severe storms and tornadoes to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster assistance. Registration is required before assistance can be awarded.

Disaster assistance is available to eligible residents in DeKalb, Marshall and Walker counties.

Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards

*Dollars Obligated: Funds made available to the State via electronic transfer following FEMA's final review and approval of Public Assistance projects.
