FG 6-15 DOMESTIC COUNCIL

Included in the Executive files of category FG 6-15 is a significant amount of correspondence pertaining to Domestic Council Cabinet level committee and subcommittee meetings. The topics covered in these meetings include aging, the bicentennial celebration, community development, energy, health, human resources, law enforcement and drug abuse, natural resources, planning assistance for state and local governments, transportation, veterans services, and welfare reform planning. Also documented are the staff travel project "Listening Sessions", the Model Cities Program, the Expanded Ownership (of property) Program, and the Urban League job programs. The Executive files also include several letters of resignation from staff members. Updated Domestic Council staff rosters are periodically found in the Executive files.

The General files include resumes and letters of application from government and non-government personnel for Domestic Council positions. There are also several requests for members of the Domestic Council staff to speak before various organizations across the country. In addition, members of the general public sent inquiries wanting to know how the Domestic Council works. The General files also include several requests from high school and college students seeking information about the Domestic Council for research projects.

The Executive files include several orders of presidential appointments to the Domestic Council staff. In addition, there are also several letters of resignation from staff members and replies from the President.
