NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COOPERATIVE WEATHER OBSERVER PROGRAM: THE BACKBONE OF THE NATION'S CLIMATE RECORDS

NOAA's COOP is truly the nation's weather and climate observing network of, by and for the people. Thanks to its dedicated legion of volunteers, the Cooperative Network has been recognized both as the most comprehensive daily source of U.S. temperature and precipitation data, and for establishing an invaluable climate record. NOAA scientists regularly use COOP data to study trends and better predict climate conditions in the future.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NWFSC: CELEBRATING 70 YEARS OF FISHING SCIENCE

For 70 years, much of the Northwest's best fisheries research has been done in Seattle's Montlake neighborhood, where NOAA's Northwest Fisheries Science Center is home to more than 200 experts in population biology, ecology, genetics, fish pathology, toxicology, aquaculture and related disciplines.

ADVANCED HYDROLOGIC PREDICTION SERVICE: WATER INFORMATION FOR A STRONGER AND SAFER AMERICA

NOAA's Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service provides new forecast products depicting the magnitude and uncertainty of occurrence for hydrologic events—ranging from droughts to floods. Once fully implemented at the national level, AHPS will significantly improve river forecasts and water resource management in the United States.

NOAA's TIDES ONLINE

NOAA's Tides Online is a Web-based product, which provides users with the latest graphical and tabular water level observations, predictions and meteorological data in real-time or near real-time from 175 National Water Level Observation Network gauges in the United States. Some of the records contain data spanning more than 1.5 centuries, making them some of the longest geophysical records in the United States.
