DOL-4 is primarily responsible for
coordinating logistics support for deployed Coast Guard units and for Coast
Guard units engaged in contingency response operations.
DOL-4 personnel also serve as the DCMS on-site representative for PACAREA
and LANTAREA to interpret logistics issues, oversee the DCMS watch in the
Atlantic Area Command Center, maintain liaison with DCMS logistics and
service center product lines, identify and develop logistics operations
plans for Coast Guard and joint operations conducted outside Coast Guard
district boundaries, maintain the Coast Guard's stock of Chemical,
Biological, and Radiological (CBR) equipment, and assist all deployed Coast
Guard units in coordination of diplomatic and country clearances as well as
port calls.
