Disaster Assistance

If you are in need of information or assistance after the storm, please contact the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) at 1-866-519-MEMA (6362).

If you live in one of these counties you can apply for assistance online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling toll-free 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Those with a speech or hearing impairment should call TTY 1-800-462-7585. Telephone operators are available every day, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. CDT.  Online registration services are available 24 hours a day.

If you live in a county that has been included in a federal disaster assistance designation, you can apply for assistance.

Assistance for insured survivors may come in the form of grants or low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Recovery Centers.

FEMA is also operating mobile disaster recovery centers in the Hancock, Harrison, Jackson and Pearl River counties to help survivors with information and answer questions about disaster assistance.

Disaster Distress Helpline

The Department of Health and Human Services has set up a 24 hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week Disaster Distress Helpline for people seeking crisis counseling after experiencing a natural or manmade disaster or tragedy.  Residents of the Gulf States can call 1-800-985-5990 for assistance.
