Media Advisory #12-020 Devil Pups Youth Program being held at Camp Pendleton

July / 24 / 2012
CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. —

The Devil Pups Youth Program for America is holding its annual encampment here, July 5-28.

During 10 days of challenge, teamwork, discipline and education, boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 17 learn cooperation and respect for the dignity of others, regardless of race, creed, color or national origin. The non-profit youth program is conducted in two separate 10 day programs, each with approximately 300 participants.

Activities include conditioning exercises, first aid instruction, leadership classes, organized recreation, a bivouac (camping out) and swimming. The program is not a “mini boot camp”, para-military or recruiting organization for the Marine Corps.

Media are invited to view the devil pups build their confidence as they jump off a 35-foot tall platform into a pool.

Media attending the event will have the opporty to witness the training evolution and will be given an opporty to interview those participating in the exercise.
