One of the most important aspects of my job in Congress is to support the brave servicemen and women serving both on and off the battlefield.  The First Congressional District is home to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.

I am proud to represent these servicemembers and their families.

The military is at the center of our national defense and North Carolina’s economic wellbeing.  The military is the number one employer east of I-95 and contributes billions of dollars to our state’s economy.  Over the past eight years, I have strongly supported the military installations across the eastern region and have worked to make sure new military technologies like the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and the KC-46 Tanker are based in eastern North Carolina.

As long as I have the honor of representing the First Congressional District and the heroic service members at our military bases, I will continue to support our armed forces and the military's presence in eastern North Carolina.
