Eligible/Ineligible Products
- Beef and beef products. Effective for beef and beef
products derived from cattle slaughtered on or after
June 14, 2009, all age restrictions and product
restrictions have been removed.
Certification Requirements
- Beef and beef products. Obtain FSIS Form 9060-5,
Export Certificate. The following statements should be
provided in the Remarks section of FSIS Form 9060-5,
or on a FSIS Letterhead Certificate:*
- The United States complies with
the conditions in the Terrestrial Animal
Health Code of the OIE as a country that
presents a Controlled Risk for bovine
spongiform encephalopathy.
- The bovine meat and meat products were produced and handled in
a manner which ensures that such products do
not contain and are not contaminated with the
following specified risk materials: the brain,
skull, eyes, trigeminal ganglia, spinal cord,
vertebral column (excluding the vertebrae of
the tail, the transverse processes of the
thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, and the wings
of the sacrum) and dorsal root ganglia of
cattle 30 months of age and older; and the
tonsils and distal ileum of the small
intestine of cattle regardless of age.
- The bovine meat and meat products were subject to
testing in accordance with the U.S. National
Residue Program.
- The method of stunning cattle does not include intracranial gas
injection or the use of sharp instruments
which could cut the medulla (pithing).
Plants Eligible to Export
All federally inspected establishments are eligible to export to St. Kitts and Nevis.
