Export Requirements for Nigeria

Eligible/Ineligible Products
  1. Eligible product
    1. Red meat and poultry may be exported under special certification.

Documentation Requirements
  1. Obtain FSIS Form 9060-5--Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness.
  2. Free Sale Certificates. Nigeria requires "free sale" certificates from FSIS and the plant management.
    1. Current FSIS policy is for FSIS form 9060-5 to represent the certificate of free sale from the U.S. government. Contact the FSIS Technical Service Center for additional information.
    2. The following statement should be typed on plant stationery and signed by a plant official:

      "It is hereby certified that the following goods were manufactured in the United States of America in accordance with the law. Their sale in this country would not constitute a contravention of such law."

Plants Eligible to Export

All federally inspected plants are eligible for export to Nigeria.
