U.S. Embassy Commercial Service And Blackboard, Inc. Host Roundtable On E-Learning

MANILA, February 8, 2013 -- The U.S. Embassy’s Commercial Service and Blackboard Inc., a global leader in education technology, hosted a roundtable discussion this week with world leaders in higher education focused on education technology imperatives for the Philippines.

The February 5 event, which showcased successful implementation of education technology around the world, also featured a strategic discussion around how best practices can be leveraged in the Philippines.

During the event, about 80 Philippine educators and thought leaders exchanged ideas on topics including the use of technology to support the Philippines' move toward a more knowledge-based economy; driving economic growth with a skilled workforce; and the country's roadmap for reform in the higher education sector.
