The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is providing this information in order to meet the requirements of Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) "Final Information Quality Bulletin for Peer Review," in the Federal Register on January 14, 2005 at http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/omb/assets/omb/pubpress/2006/2006-01.pdf OMB’s Peer Review Bulletin established government-wide guidance aimed at enhancing the practice of peer review of the federal government’s science documents. It requires federal agencies to systematically plan for peer review of influential scientific information (including highly influential scientific assessments) that the government intends to disseminate in the foreseeable future. By making these plans publicly available, members of the public know which scientific documents are being peer reviewed and approximately when and how the peer review will take place. In some cases, members of the public may be allowed to nominate experts to be chosen to participate on peer review panels. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued guidance consistent with OMB’s bulletin. USDA’s Peer Review Guidance can be found at: http://www.ocio.usda.gov/qi_guide/scientific_research.html. This agenda will be updated as needed and at least every 6 months. Members of the public who wish to comment on an individual plan may send an email message by following the instructions at the end of the plan. Last Modified:
