How has joining the Air Force impacted your life? Joining the Air Force has been the best decision that I have ever made. I have had the opportunity to experience two very different career fields and with that, lots of experiences. I will always appreciate the lessons learned and the guidance that I have been given by my peers and my supervision. The Air Force has taught me that your family doesn't stop with blood. You also have an Air Force family everywhere you go. I will never forget the people who have shown me all the love that you can ever get on a job.
If you were Chief of Staff of the Air Force for one day, how would you change the Air Force? That day is a long way away but I am definitely not counting it out. If I were Chief of Staff, I would consider making it mandatory to have at least a bachelor's degree to enter the Air Force. It seems that once people enter the Air Force, they either settle into their cushy new job or are too busy to get it done. Today it seems vital to have a degree if you want any kind of decent job. Why should the Air Force be any different? And if you decide to leave the Air Force before your 20 years are up then at least you will have your degree to fall back on.
Why selected? "Sergeant Noland was selected to be our 10th Space Warning Squadron First Knight for three reasons: her exemplary professionalism, her superb dedication to duty, and her positively contagious energetic leadership. Here at Cavalier Air Force Station, ND, we are a small, geographically separated and CONUS-Isolated unit that counts on all of our Airmen to perform at peak levels in order to conduct our vital missions every day. As a newly cross-trained space operator, Crystal has proved perfection is her standard as she has earned three highly qualified evaluations without missing a single knowledge question during any training or evaluation test administered. Sergeant Noland models what the USAF demands from our noncommissioned officers." -- Lt. Col. John Thomas, 10 SWS commander.
