Loan Processing
Online Requests
If you successfully complete the entire loan process online, and are approved, you will receive your money in 7 to 10 days.
Paper Requests
Loans submitted by mail to the address on Form TSP-20, Loan Application will take several weeks for processing and approval.
Loan Status
You may track the status of your loan by going to the My Account section of this website or by contacting the TSP.
Loan Disbursement
Online Requests
If your loan request was made and approved online, you will receive your money in the form of a check, mailed to your address of record. You will not have the option of receiving your funds by electronic funds transfer (EFT).
Paper Requests
If you submitted your application by mail, you may choose to receive your money in one of two ways:
- By check, mailed to your address of record, or
- By electronic funds transfer, sent directly to your financial institution
Loan Deduction
If your TSP account is invested in more than one fund, your loan payments are deducted proportionally from traditional and Roth employee contributions and earnings in each fund.
