Top U.S. exports to Canada are fresh fruit and vegetables, snack foods, red meat, and processed fruit and vegetables. Canada's top exports to the United States are snack foods, seafood products, red meat, and live animals.
Trade with Canada is facilitated by proximity, common culture, language, similar lifestyle pursuits, and the ease of travel among citizens for business and pleasure, making it an ideal first export market for small and medium sized enterprises. In addition, many U.S. products have gained an increased competitive edge over goods from other countries as the result of the FTA/NAFTA.
