You will get the promptest response from your child's teacher by emailing the teacher or calling the school. Leaving a note in Gradespeed can lead to a delay because, to see whether a note has been written, the teacher must click on each student's name. Here is the format for teacher email addresses: firstname.lastname@am.dodea.edu
The school's telephone number is 845-938-2923.

WHAT IS GRADESPEED?
Gradespeed is an Internet based gradebook that is being used in DoDEA schools. Grade Speed will be implemented for the first time this school year at WPMS.

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT PARENTS?

Gradespeed includes online parent access that allows parents/guardians to view their child's current averages and assignment grades.

HOW DOES A PARENT SIGN UP?
Step 1: For directions click on Creating a Parent Gradespeed Account and print.
Step 2: Go to https://dodea.gradespeed.net and fill out the online application using the directions from Step 1.
Step 3. Come to the West Point Middle School Main Office to do the following:
• Show valid Identification (Military ID, Driver's License or Passport)
• Complete the West Point Middle School Gradespeed Access Form (we recommend you download the form and complete it in advance)

Parent accounts will be activated with forty-eight hours of submitting the Gradespeed Access Form.

HOW WILL A PARENT NAVIGATE GRADESPEED?

Click on Navigating the Parent Screens in Gradespeed and print for directions.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Every teacher will enter student grades within three class meetings of the completion of the learning task. Task completion is considered the submission of a homework or in-class assignment of any type and the finishing of a quiz, test, or other assessment.
  • Once given to students, teachers will post the next assigned learning task in one of three places: Gradespeed; the school web site homework page; or parent web portals provided with DoDEA-purchased curriculum materials like the Spanish courses' "Realidades" site.

TROUBLE WITH GRADESPEED?

Contact the West Point Middle School Webmaster or call 845 938-2923 and ask for the WPMS Educational Technologist.
