Awards and Recognition

At VA, our Veteran employees are critical to the overall success of the organization. Consider nominating your coworkers or team to be considered for one of these awards:

Air Force Association Employee of the Year Award
This annual award recognizes the significant contributions of a VA employee who has provided competent and compassionate service to Veterans.

Presidential Rank Award
Career Senior Executives and senior career employees are eligible to receive this prestigious award. Nominees are strong leaders, professionals and scientists who achieve results and consistently demonstrate strength, integrity and a relentless commitment to excellence in public service. Employees are nominated by their agency heads, and winners are selected by the president.

Secretary’s Robert W. Carey Performance Excellence Award
This annual award recognizes organizations within VA that have implemented management approaches resulting in sustained high levels of performance and service to our nation’s Veterans.

VA Innovation Initiative (VAi2)
VA employees can contribute new solutions to increase access to and improve the quality of VA services, enhance VA’s operations, and reduce program costs:

The VBA Employee Innovation Competition targets ways to help Veterans re-enter the economy. It is open to employees and co-located Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) in the Veterans Benefits Administration.

The VHA Employee Innovation Competition is open to all VA employees with ideas to improve healthcare quality, access and transparency.
