With the mission on the Hanford Site now shifted toward cleanup, CH2M HILL is focusing on cleaning up waste sites and treating contaminated groundwater to ensure a healthy future for the Columbia River. To accomplish this goal, CH2M HILL has drilling, remediation and groundwater treatment efforts under way through Hanford’s 100K Area and Central Plateau, which includes a total of 11 groundwater operable units.
CH2M HILL’s groundwater cleanup strategy focuses on cleanup along the Columbia River, which includes construction, expansion and operation of pump-and-treat facilities in the 100 and 200 Areas to treat contaminated groundwater and support the overall mission of protecting the river.
CH2M HILL is using a new resin at its groundwater treatment facilities along the river. The material is expected to save an estimated $1 million per year. Read more . . .
