CSM Ronnie R. Kelley


Command Sergeant Major, 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss



Command Sergeant Major Ronnie R. Kelley is a native of Bryan, Texas and enlisted in the Army on 16 July 1985.

His 27-year career includes previous assignments across CONUS, Germany, and in Korea. He has served as an M60A3 tank driver and gunner, M1A1 gunner and tank commander, Tank Platoon Sergeant, Observer Controller, and First Sergeant. His most recent assignment to the 1st Cavalry Division included duty as the Operations Sergeant Major for 2nd Brigade Combat Team (BLACKJACK), Command Sergeant Major of 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment (BLACK KNIGHTS), and Command Sergeant Major of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team (GREYWOLF).

He has completed all levels of the noncommissioned officers' professional education.

CSM Kelley's operational deployments include Bosnia (OPERATION FOAL EAGLE) and Iraq (OPERATION DESERT SHIELD AND STORM, OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM (3 tours), and OPERATION NEW DAWN).

CSM Kelley's awards and decorations include 4 Bronze Stars, 3 Meritorious Service Medals, 5 Army Commendation Medals, 7 Army Achievement Medals, the Army Good Conduct Medal (eighth award), National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Korean Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Combat Action Badge, and Driver's Badge.

In addition, CSM Kelley is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, has received the Order of St. George and Order of Saint Maurice, and is a member of the Excellence in Armor Program.
