Security Regulations

Overview

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) issues and administers Transportation Security Regulations (TSRs), which are codified in Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Chapter XII, parts 1500 through 1699.

Docket System and Facility: TSA maintains the official regulatory docket in electronic form through the Federal Docket Management System (FDMS), a government-wide, electronic docket management system, found at Regulations.gov. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Docket Management Facility processes TSA’s dockets and provide a physical facility and assistance to the public. Read More

Below are links to the TSRs in the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations (e-CFR), recent uncodified amendments and related interpretive guidance, and regulatory history documents housed in our regulatory docket. In cases where a regulatory amendment has not yet taken effect, the effective date is indicated. Parts that are “(Reserved)” are proposed additions or amendments to the CFR. These parts are not linked to the e-CFR until the amendments become final. However, TSA’s regulatory history sections for these parts are available for viewing.
