Lake Barkley Open House Tours

Lake Barkley is now offering the public free monthly guided tours of all three project visitor centers.

Visitors can choose a 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 2:00 p.m. tour time.  2013 tour dates are yet to be determined.

Approximately two hours in length, the tour will begin at Lake Barkley’s Natural Resource Managers Office Visitor Center. After guest check in and a brief introduction, guests will board a shuttle that will transport them to the powerhouse/dam and lock structures. Guiding guests through the facilities, Corps of Engineers' personnel and volunteers will provide information about Lake Barkley’s unique history, project purposes, recreational opportunities, fish and wildlife benefits, as well as an up-close look of the dam, power house, and lock facilities.

All facilities and shuttle are ADA assessable.

Pre-registration is required for all tour guests (including children ages 16 and under) and all registration forms must be submitted no later than the Wednesday prior to the scheduled tour date.

Tour size is limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
