Washington, D.C. – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) released the following statement today, Monday, May 2, 2011, regarding the news that Osama Bin Laden has been killed:

“I join the President and all Americans in gratitude to our armed forces and the intelligence community for the outstanding job they have done in bringing Osama Bin Laden to justice.

“Osama Bin Laden represented a threat to all those who stood for freedom and democracy around the world.

“I will continue to be thankful for our brave men and women in uniform who have sacrificed so much to ensure the safety of Americans and the freedom of our country.”
