The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District welcomes you to J. Percy Priest Lake.  The lake provides a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities for millions of visitors each year.  Because of the temperate climate and relatively long recreation season, visitors have numerous activities to participate in including fishing, hunting, camping, picnicking, boating, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, and more. Because of the lake's proximity to Nashville (15 minutes from downtown) lakeside recreation can fit nicely into your other vacation plans.

Commentary: Don't stop practicing water safety on Corps lakes
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 31, 2012) – As we enter the Labor Day weekend and the remaining few weeks of the Summer recreation season, I want to again emphasize the extreme importance of “Water Safety” to continue reducing fatalities on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s 10 lakes.

Lower Mississippi River would be four feet less mighty without Twin Rivers
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 23, 2012) – The lower Mississippi River would be four feet less mighty today if not for the water storage reservoirs along the Tennessee and Cumberland rivers and their tributaries that provide a stream of water management benefits.

Class equips Corps employees with tools to safeguard nation’s historical treasures
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 5, 2012) -- Some of the nation’s most valuable historical treasures are located on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lands right here in the Nashville District. Preserving and protecting these significant resources is so essential that Corps employees recently received specialized training that equipped them with the tools necessary to safeguard archaeological sites.

Park rangers hook up underprivileged kids at J. Percy Priest Lake Fishing Rodeo
HERMITAGE, Tenn. (June 14, 2011) – Park rangers at J. Percy Priest Lake cast underprivileged children to participate in a fishing rodeo here today. More than 20 inner-city kids in the area jumped at the chance to get hooked up with rods, reels, bait and all the tools necessary to fish.
