What is mediaX?

mediaX connects businesses with Stanford University’s world-renowned faculty to study new ways for people and technology to intersect.

We are the industry affiliate program to Stanford’s H-STAR Institute. We help our members explore how the thoughtful use of technology can impact a range of fields, from entertainment to learning to commerce. Together, we’re researching innovative ways for people to collaborate, communicate, and interact with the information, products, and industries of tomorrow.

Attend events from a year-round calendar of workshops, symposia, and conferences.

Facilitated Access To mediaX Research

Access formal presentations by faculty and students on new and ongoing research, and informally exchange ideas with researchers.

Annual Theme Day

Give us a question or subject of interest, and we plan a day of presentations surrounding that theme.

Research Initiative

Participate in the development of a mediaX research theme and in the research process.

Cost of Membership

$10,000 $50,000 $300,000 minimum

Visiting Scholars

Send an employee to be hosted by a Stanford research lab.

Additional $75,000 per employee/year Additional $75,000 per employee/year

mediaX membership fees provide unrestricted support for Stanford research activities, and may be used to supplement sponsored research activities at Stanford that are funded through sponsorship external to mediaX.
