Special Leave Accrual Information Paper, January 2013As the
National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2013 extended 75/120 (without Special
Leave Accrual (SLA)/with SLA) leave limits to 30 September 2015, the Human
Resources Command (HRC) leave proponent has provided an updated information
paper (attached at the following link) on SLA and annual leave carryover.
From 1
October 2008 thru 30 September 2015, a Soldier may carry forward up to 75 days
of leave. However, leave balances exceeding 60 days on 1 October 2015 will be
lost unless SLA protected. At this time, any accumulated leave in excess of 75
days is lost at the end of the fiscal year unless protected by Special Leave
Accrual (SLA).
