2/28/2011 - MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 35th Force Support Squadron hosted an ice breaker event to kick off the two-day Air Force John L. Hennessy Award evaluation Feb. 27, 2011, at Misawa Air Base, Japan.
The annual John L. Hennessy Award is given to the best dining facility food service operation in the Air Force that exemplifies sanitation, food operation, kitchen production, management and training areas.
The Grissom Dining Facility won the 2010 Food Service Excellence Award in Pacific Air Forces, and is now competing with seven other bases to be crowned best in the Air Force and take home the Hennessy Award.
"This award is big for us," said Tech. Sgt. Melody Goitom, 35th Force Support Squadron Food Service Operations Section chief. "My team has been working extremely hard. We're ready to get evaluated, and we're ready to win."
