TSA Names Dulles International Airport as a Gateway Airport, Allowing General Aviation Access to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced today that beginning January, 2 2007, Dulles International Airport (IAD) will serve as the newest gateway airport, allowing certain pre-cleared general aviation operations, including corporate aircraft, charter flights, and on-demand operations, to fly directly into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Operators are now allowed to apply to begin general aviation flights from IAD into DCA.

Tom Rice Named Federal Security Director of the Year for Eastern Region

Ten Teams Join Ranks of TSA National Explosives Detection Canine Team Program

TSA Names General Manager for Operational Plans and Programs

Chiaradio’s responsibilities include the oversight and management of a multitude of security-related issues including screening operations, the national deployment and program planning offices, regulatory compliance, and training programs and procedures.

TSA Names Acting Federal Security Director for Chicago O’Hare International Airport

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Transportation Security Administration today named Kathleen (Lenz) Petrowsky as the acting federal security director for Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). Petrowsky has been serving as the deputy federal security director for O’Hare since August 2005. In her new role, she will oversee all TSA operations at O’Hare airport.

DHS Targets High Risk Hazardous Materials in Transit - New Freight Rail Security Regulations Will Protect High Threat Urban Areas

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security today issued a notice of proposed rulemaking to vastly strengthen the security of the nation’s rail systems in the highest threat urban areas. The proposed rule is part of a package of new security measures that will require freight rail carriers to ensure 100 percent positive hand-off of Toxic Inhalation Hazard (TIH) materials, establish security protocols for custody transfers of TIH rail cars in the high threat urban areas, and appoint a rail security coordinator to share information with the federal government, as well as formalizing the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) freight and passenger rail inspection authority.

TSA Names Three Area Directors to Oversee Transportation Security Nationwide
