1/24/2012 - MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- After receiving an Article 15 for adultery, this edition's "Feature 15" winner didn't understand "what love had to do with it."
This newly divorced Airman was verbally counseled by his unit commander to stay away from his married mistress; a woman in which he had a love affair with while her husband was deployed. Unfortunately for him, this Airman believed "love would find a way," ignored his unit commander, and subsequently, while on leave in the U.S., went to visit his "secret lover." To celebrate their "U-N-I-T-Y," the couple posed for a picture along with their respective children and posted it on Facebook, with the caption "my new family."
As a result of his relentless fatal attraction, the Airman was reduced to E-1, given 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand.

Offense Description: An airman 1st class threw drink, and verbally assaulted her ex-boyfriend. Member had a no-contact order issued by her commander.
Violated: Article 92 - Failure to obey a lawful order
Punishment Imposed:
· Reduction to E-2 (suspended)
· Forfeiture $822.00 for two months (suspended)
· 45 days restriction to Misawa AB
· Reprimand
Offense Description: A senior airman broke a no-contact order.
Violated: Article 92 - Failure to obey a lawful order

Offense Description: An airman 1st class lied about having vehicle insurance and failed to provide proof of vehicle insurance.
Violated: Article 92 - Dereliction of duty and Article 107 - Making a false official statement

· Reduction to E-1
· Forfeiture $733.00 pay (suspended)
· 21 days extra duty
· Reprimand
Offense Description: An airman 1st class was late for duty on multiple occasions and lied about having an appointment.
Violated: Article 86 - Failure to go (x3) and Article 107 - Making a false official statement
Punishment Imposed:
· Reduction to E-1
· 14 days restriction to Misawa AB
· Reprimand
Offense Description: A staff sergeant assaulted his wife and picked up his child to shield himself from his wife's strikes.
Violated: Article 128 - Assault consummated by a battery and Article 134 - Child endangerment
Punishment Imposed:
· Reduction to E-4 (suspended)
· 21 days extra duty
· Forfeiture $1,162.00 pay
· Reprimand
Offense Description: An airman 1st class was caught downtown stealing 5,000 Yen from a local national.
Violated: Article 121 - Larceny
Punishment Imposed:
· Reduction to E-2 (suspended)
· 45 days restriction to Misawa AB
· Forfeiture of $200.00 for two months |
