Mr. Munson Charles A. Munson

Deputy to the Garrison Commander

 

Charles A. Munson was born and raised in central Pennsylvania. Upon graduation from Drexel University in 1971, he was commissioned and entered the Army. He retired from active service and in August 2002.  He was appointed as the Deputy to the Fort Campbell Garrison Commander in October, 2008.

His service with the Army spans a wide variety of assignments, culminating as U.S. Army, Europe's Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff, Personnel and Installation Management for Installation Management. In addition to commanding at the company and battalion level, he has served as a Director for Industrial Operations, a Military Community Executive Officer, the Garrison Commander, Zweibrucken, Germany, and the Garrison Commander for the U.S. Army garrisons in Italy (Commander, 22nd Area Support Group).  As a civilian employee, he just recently completed an assignment as the Deputy to the Fort A. P. Hill Garrison Commander.

Mr. Munson holds a Bachelor of Science in General Business Administration from Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pa., and a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Webster University, St. Louis, Mo. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army War College, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Ordnance Officer Advance Course, Mechanical Maintenance Officer Course and the Armor Officer Basic Course.

His military awards include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal.
