Nominees rank and name:
Airman 1st Class Jeffrey Scott, 35th Security Forces Squadron patrolman.

Where are you from?
Elk Grove, Calif.

What's your favorite thing about being stationed in Japan?
My favorite thing about being stationed in Japan is being able to experience a new culture and work side-by-side with our Japanese counterparts.

Who has been your greatest Air Force mentor and what quality about this mentor do you value most?
Tech. Sgt. Joshua Pokorney has been my greatest mentor. He pushed me to try my hardest and keep persevering. Sergeant Pokorney also gave me the guidance necessary to make correct decisions in the early stages of my career.

What is your primary professional goal at this point in your career?
My main goal is to be the best Airman possible, to make rank and earn more money.

What motivates you?
Being able to make a difference in people's lives, better the community and the opportunity to serve my country

Describe the best day of your life.
The best day of my life was when my family got to see me in my blues at my basic training graduation.

What advice would you give to new Airmen?
It's easy to get complacent both on and off-duty. Avoid laziness and always strive to better yourself and the community.

Supervisor's comment:
"Airman 1st Class Jeffrey Scott strives for excellence both on and off-duty," said Staff Sgt. Richard Phillips, 35th Security Forces Squadron Base Defense Operations Center controller. "He is dedicated to continuous personal and professional growth and encourages other Airmen around him to do the same."
