The Department of History, which is spearheading our efforts, encourages interdisciplinary study and, through our public history program, encourages students to practice history in public by collaborating with communities and cultural institutions to document and interpret both local and national histories.

Honors Humanities is a selective program within the University of Maryland’s Honors College that teaches students to use rigorous and innovative concepts from the humanities no matter what fields they go into.
