Issuance of Revised Qualification Standard for the Information Technology Management Series, 2210 |
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is issuing two final qualification standards, Information Technology Management Series, 2210 (Alternative A) and Information Technology Management Series, 2210 (Alternative B) for the Information Technology Management Series, 2210. These revised standards incorporate experience requirements identified based on a Governmentwide occupational analysis of IT positions, input from subject matter experts from the Federal IT community, and comments from agencies, including the Federal Chief Information Officers Council. They update the occupational requirements for the 2210 series, align the qualifications with the Job Family Standard for Administrative Work in the Information Technology Group classification standard, and streamline and improve usability.
Previous requirements for Alternative A and Alternative B were in one document titled Individual Occupational Requirements for GS-2210: Information Technology Management Series, which had to be used in conjunction with the Group Standard for Administrative and Management Positions. Now, all Alternative A requirements are combined into an individual qualification standard, Information Technology Management Series, 2210 (Alternative A), and all qualification requirements for Alternative B are combined into a separate individual qualification standard, Information Technology Management Series, 2210 (Alternative B).
These qualification standards supersede all previous versions for the Information Management Technology Series, 2210. Copies of the revised standards and accompanying Information Management Technology Series, 2210 - Questions and Answers are attached for your immediate use. Additionally, these documents can be located on the OPM website at www.opm.gov/qualifications.
If you have questions please contact Carmen Andújar, Manager for Recruiting, Examining and Assessment Group, by telephone (202) 606-1164 or by email carmen.andujar@opm.gov.
