- This video was made to celebrate 1500 kids who recently graduated from the English Access Microscholarship Program in Karachi. Access is a two-year after-school English language proficiency program for talented 14-18 year-olds from underprivileged and economically-disadvantaged sectors. The U.S. Embassy hosts the world’s largest English Access program.

- In Swat, USAID is funding the reconstruction of 78 militancy-affected schools, many of which are schools for girls. The school-building program, which also includes schools in Malakand, will benefit more than 16,000 students, including 9,000 girls.
- Watch this amazing video of Pakistan-India sports exchange program in U.S. The U.S. recently brought 18 young female athletes and and two coaches from India and Pakistan together. The girls shared laughs, started a new conversation with on...e another, and encouraged each other to excel both on and off the soccer field. With a focus on peace building, the India-Pakistan soccer exchange also highlights the importance of using sports as a means of empowerment. According to the United Nations, girls who play sports are more likely to attend school.See More

- The United States is funding watershed management projects across Pakistan to help farmers manage scarce water resources, leading to higher yields and higher incomes. Here, a local farmer from Aarokas village tells Ambassador Hoagland, “We had barren lands for many years due to water scarcity, but through the watershed management project we were able to convert our barren land into flush green fields.”

- On October 8, high schools in Bagh, KPK observed the 7th anniversary of the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, where large number of schools were totally destroyed. After the earthquake, the U.S. government, via USAID, started to reconstruct 27 schools out of which 15 have been completed. The U.S. also built 21 schools in the Mansehra district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, which was also badly affected by the earthquake.
