European Commission on Trade's Five Year Trade Policy Plan
by GSI Staff November 12, 2010
The European Commission on Trade issued a report outlining its 5 year trade policy. Included among the actions proposed by the Commission are plans to deepen trade relations with other strategic partners, such as the US, China, Russia and Japan, with a main focus on tackling non-tariff barriers to trade; help European businesses access global markets by addressing the balance between EU open markets (e.g., public procurement) and more closed markets with trading partners; and negotiating comprehensive investment provisions with some key trading partners.
