Inpatient medical records are maintained for every admission to Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Personnel that are not involved in a patient’s care or in medical research will never have access to a patient’s medical record. The exceptions to this restriction are allowed when access is required by law, regulation, or judicial proceedings; when access is needed for hospital accreditation or when access is authorized by the patient. Inpatient medical records may be removed from the Medical Center only upon court order, statute or subpoena, and only upon authorization of the Chief, Patient Administration Division.
