Hot Ramp

Day time high temperatures have been in the high 90’s and consistently breaking 100 degree mark for most of June and July in Iowa. 185th Restores Classic A-7 Corsair

An A-7K model is in front of the Air National Guard Paint Facility in Sioux City, Iowa after receiving new metal work and fresh paint. The Corsair will eventually be featured at the Iowa National Guard’s Gold Star Museum at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa. The paint scheme depicts the colors used in the mid 1980’s when the aircraft was used as the Air Forces primary air to ground attack aircraft. The 185th Air National Guard unit in Sioux City, Iowa, flew the A-7K “Corsairs” from 1977 until converting to the F-16 Falcons in 1991.
