Our mission at Stars and Stripes is to provide independent news and information to the U.S. military community, comprised of active-duty, DoD civilians, contractors and their families. Although we are part of the Department of Defense, we are guaranteed First Amendment privileges that are subject to Congressional oversight.

As a DoD-authorized newspaper, Stars and Stripes may be distributed through official channels and may use appropriated funds for distribution to remote and isolated locations where overseas DoD personnel are located.

We currently provide both print and electronic media to our troops and families and have expanded to include community websites specific to military bases worldwide.

Our UK site provides servicemembers stationed in England with a variety of news about topics that are important to them while also addressing everything they need to know about living in the UK. We provide a one-stop source for news and entertainment so that they can make the most of living in Europe.

The contents of Stripes UK website, uk.stripes.com, is unofficial, and is not to be considered as the official views of, or endorsed by, the U.S. government, including the Department of Defense (DoD) or the U.S. European Command (EUCOM).

The appearance of advertising on the UK community website, uk.stripes.com (including online links, printed inserts and supplements), does not constitute endorsement of those products by DoD or Stars and Stripes.

Products or services advertised on this website shall be made available for purchase, use or patronage without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, physical handicap, political affiliation, sexual orientation or any other non-merit factor of the purchaser, user or patron.
