Goal:

Provide support to the Government of Ethiopia Disaster Risk Management and Food Security Sector (DRMFSS) to improve its capacity to anticipate and manage shocks and disasters in a timely manner.

Project Objectives:

  • Introduce the U.S. National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) components and evaluate for applicability in Ethiopia
  • Train in identified relevant NIMS components and contextualize to the Ethiopian government and cultural setting
  • Integrate and operationalize systems in pilot organizations/regions
  • Scale up and institutionalize systems based on lessons learned from pilot programs
