Training Branch

The objective of the Training Branch is to support the division in meeting and/or exceeding the proficiency and certification training requirements set forth by Army Regulations, DoD Instructions, NFPA Standards and Federal Regulations. The Training Branch serves as the focal point for the firefighters during their career progression, utilizing the Department of Defense certification, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), State of North Carolina certification programs, and the Domestic Preparedness program sponsored by the Department of Justice on a recurring basis. Our goal is to provide the most effective training for our firefighters ensuring the safest fire protection and rescue services for Fort Bragg’s soldiers, their families, and the civilian work force.

Recent Training Events

Recently firefighters from Camp Lejuene were on post for live fire aircraft training. Over the course of 4 days, 14 firefighters were certified to the Airport Firefighter level.

Training Facilities

The Training Branch manages and maintains the Bragg Firefighter Training Facility which is located on Pope Army Airfield. The FIRE TRAINER® Symtron T-1000 Live Fire Training System, which is environmentally safe, provides realistic training in an orderly, expedient, and effective manner of extinguishing typical household fires. The trainer allows firefighters to train with live fire in simulated interior environments. Firefighters can safely be exposed to the intense heat and smoke found in real-world fires while performing training evolutions.

The Aircraft Trainer features inboard/outboard/high tail engine fires, gear/APU fires, 6 ground burners and four interior fire scenarios.
