EDITORS AND CORRESPONDENTS

"Who Must Comply With the U.S. DOT Safety Regulations?" is the title of an updated brochure the Federal Highway Administration has re-issued for the guidance of people who operate trucks and buses.

The brochure identifies the three main regulatory areas -- the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, the Hazardous Materials Regulations and the minimum insurance requirements -- and the types of operations to which these regulations apply.

Copies of the publication are available at no charge from the Office of Motor Carrier Information Analysis (HIA-1), 400 Seventh Street, S.W., Washington, DC 20590.

Sincerely yours,

George L. Reagle
Associate Administrator for Motor Carriers
