Program Overview
The Advanced Educational Program in Endodontics is a 2 Year Program leading to a Certificate in Endodontics from the U.S. Army Medical Department.

The Program is predominately clinical with no less than 50% of the residents' time devoted to clinical sciences, which also includes didactic training. 30% of the residents' time is devoted to biomedical sciences, 15% to research and 5% to teaching. This allocation of time is deemed essential to provide the sound clinical judgment and expertise upon which endodontic or medical treatment will be predicated for all eligible categories of patients. Didactic training is provided in the form of seminar lectures, conferences, literature reviews, clinicopathological conferences and professional meetings to assure in-depth coverage of the scientific philosophies and clinical techniques that are necessary in the total spectrum of endodontic care. Biomedical sciences are provided by the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. In addition to the assigned teaching staff, academic training is enhanced by eminently qualified civilian and military consultants.
