SPECIALTY REFERRALS

If there are appointments available in the specialty clinics at Womack an appointment will be booked with that respective service as early as two business days after the referral has been placed. This can be done by calling the Womack appointment line at (910)907-APPT (2778). If no appointments are available at Womack the appointment clerk will help schedule an appointment to the appropriate specialty with a local in-network provider. The beneficiary should receive a letter in 7 to 10 days with information on a network provider and authorization number.

LATE POLICY

As an appointment based clinic, it is imperative that our customers and clinic staff establish a cooperative partnership to adhere to appointment times. All clinics in the Department of Family Medicine will make every effort to see our patients in compliance with TRICARE standards. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

We strongly encourage patients to arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time to allow for completion of in processing an vital signs and the intake portion of the appointment with the nursing staff. Patients who arrive 10 minutes or more late may be ask to reschedule. If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please call the cancellation line at (910)907-CNCL (2625) and reschedule. This will aid in timely patient flow, decrease patient wait times, and allow other patients to book the appointment.

NO SHOW POLICY

In order to provide the highest accessibility to our patients, we request patients call to cancel appointments rather than "no show". Your unused, canceled appointment may be used for another patient to gain access to care. Units will be notified of beneficiaries who demonstrate a pattern of failing to cancel appointments in a timely manner.
