How Do I Setup or Change File Striping in Lustre?

Users can change the striping settings for files or directories in Lustre with the lfs command.

If you change the settings for existing files, the file will get the new settings only if it is recreated.

If you change the settings for an existing directory, you will need to copy the files elsewhere and then copy them back to inherit the new settings.
