Recreation Areas
The Corps of Engineers manage three recreation areas at Laurel River Lake. They include:
The Laurel River Damsite
The Laurel River Dam Picnic Area
The Laurel River Dam Tailwaters
The Damsite area has a swim beach built on the lakes natural spillway, trail, overlook, restroom and parking area.
The Picnic Area offers an excellent opportunity for outdoor recreation. The area offers 18 individual family picnic sites, two horseshoe pits, playground, volley ball court, accessible fishing pier, two group shelters, drinking water and restrooms.
The Tailwaters area has a picnic site, restroom, park benches, and access for bank fishing or wading. Please remember to obey all signs while near the tailwaters as the water can rise rapidly.
